It is very important that you unplug the TV while removing the old lamp and installing the new lamp. I did not (it was turned off) and it did not recognize the newly installed lamp. I called a TV repair place and the sent a repairman out and $169.00 dollars later the new lamp is working GREAT. Lesson learned, when they save TV is OFF, they mean Tv is unplugged.

I wanted to wait for a few months before giving the product feedback. I bought this lamp in April for my KF-50WE610(Sony 50" LCD projection TV) and it worked perfectly for me. Since the price was lower than expected (it was 103.99 and 13$ shipping), I was concerned about an OEM part or bare bulb with no housing. But to my surprise it was the same brand of the bulb and with housing. Replacement was a breeze (of course I had to search youtube for install instructions) and the picture quality is the same. I am completely satisfied. Thanks.

The name of the product on this site says is sony, but what you actually get is a crappy phillips brand lamp. The box didn't even have a fragile sticker or anything, who knows how the box was handled. Stay away from this, unless you want a huge disappoint (for which you will spend over a hundred dollars for).

After calling around to Best Buy and other big box stores and finding out my burned out lamp was not available there, I heard from a friend that they got their replacement lamp through Amazon.com. Took me awhile to find out exactly which model lamp I needed, but when I did it was easy to order it online. I refused to pay nearly $50 for expedited shipping, so I expected a long wait for delivery. The lamp actually came in the time the expedited shipping would have come! I ordered the cage with the lamp, so it was a matter of just snapping it in and closing up the TV panel. It came right on and the LCD TV looks great once again! Thanks, Amazon!
