Items was broken July 31, 2010 Antonio L McTaggart The seller claim that the items was in good condition but never mention the most important part was broken, the scrolling knob was split in half. talk about false advertisement!
High Recommendations! July 31, 2010 Readingfreek I LOVE this product!! It goes everywhere with me, and enables me to read more than I've ever been able in the past because I can bring my entire library with me. I can read a variety of books for enjoyment, plus have reference books loaded into it for use at work. I downloaded the entire King James Bible for 99 cents. Many books are actually free! Only one (inconsequential) drawback that I've found: it has no built-in backlight for reading in the dark.
Loving My Kindle! July 31, 2010 Shaaron Jones (Los Angeles, CA United States) Not in a million years would I have thought I would enjoy my Kindle this much! Being such a "techy" person I knew that I wanted to have a reader...but didnt want to spend the money on the iPad...the Kindle was perfect!!! Fit into my budget and offers me everything that I needed!
Bookcase and reading machine July 31, 2010 Hadramut (Raleigh,NC USA) Selling books and bookcases to move to a smaller home made me candidate for a digital library and reader. I found the Barnes & Noble Nook too slow for my taste and also a little awkward to operate. The Ipad is fun and versatile, but hard to read in bright sunlight and tiring to read for a long time. Reading the Kindle is the closest experience to reading a book with the huge added benefits of adjustable font sizes, instant dictionary access and the ability to search for relevant phrases or passages. It's probably the fastest way to build up a library that takes up no space. Being able to download newspapers and magazines from around the world is a great luxury. Coupling all this with text-based internet and email access virtually anywhere at zero monthly cost makes the Kindle more useful than a multi-gadget pocket knife -- and so far from my experience just as reliable.
Kindle is nice. July 31, 2010 steph Although the iPad is so much cooler, because it can do so much more, it is heavy. The Kindle is perfect if all you want is an e-reader.
